Designed and built for a mixed media artist in Eastbourne, East Sussex, this art studio is adaptable and multi-purpose.
It is located in a first floor room of a traditional victorian house with storage for art supplies within the various items of fitted and free standing furniture. Simple floating shelves store everyday tools and materials whilst also providing a perch for displaying art.
The large nest of tables provide both standing and sitting work stations which also makes it possible to host visiting artists. This allows for a collaborative and social space.
However, very simply, the free standing furniture tucks away and the room can be converted into a spare bedroom for visiting family and friends. One large, dedicated drawer stores bedding for the sofa bed.
